Solar Powered 2600mAh Rechargeable Battery Pack with Cellphone Adapters - Review

Reviewing The

"Solar Powered 2600mAh Rechargeable Battery Pack with Cellphone Adapters"

Unboxing Of The Solar Panel

My expectations for this product "was", very good, until I started using it. I am very disappointed with this product, and I wish I used those 16USD, on something else. Some good earphones or a solar panel with a better rating would have been much smarter, but I have my myself to thank. I took a risk, and since there only was three or four reviews of this, I took the chance of maybe wasting money. Now, I can't just tell you about the negative, there was of course some positive things about it as well, but unfortunately not as much as the negative things.
I, myself support the environment and think that everyone should be using environmental friendly energy. So one of the reasons for why I bought this in the first place was to not be using the power outlets in my house.

Lets just start by, me showing you this picture of the whole solar panel! Do not be fooled by the pretty cool design and the shiny look. "Beauty Is Only Skin Deep", that's true, and that describes this item very well. The length is around 10 cm, and 5 cm in width. The green little LED light in the left corner, is always flashing. I waited for almost a week for this battery to charge. In daylight I placed the charger near a window, when the evening arrived, I placed it under a lamp. For almost seven days I did this! When I finally decided to try to charge my iPod Touch with this, and while the green LED was still flashing, I connected the panel to my portable charger to see if that worked. It did for three seconds, when something weird happened, and the all the power from the solar panel was squeezed out like an elephant sitting on top of an watermelon.

I then took and pointed the solar cells towards a light source, the green LED started flashing again, I connected the iPod Touch directly now instead of charging the portable charger first, and the iPod Touch wasn't charging at all.

LED, Input 5V and Output 5.5V. Sounds wrong doesn't it? Well, the output is actually 3V, I found that out from a previous owner of the same product. I also read from an other source that the battery charger can overcharge, when not using the AC input charging method. Maybe this is one of the reasons for my failure. Still doubting that. The Battery has a maximum storage of 2600 m/A, although other sources say it actually is 3600 m/A. I would say the  battery is more useful then the solar panel itself, what a shame.

The Solar Cells seem good, nice and of good quality, but unfortunately this is just an illusion. I don't really know, If I ruined the charger by overcharging it or if this product just sucks! I have tried various methods of charging this, after "the thing", happened. Charging it the AC power way, works, but the charging speed is slow and ineffective. The meaning of this is being environmental friendly is just a failure for me. I hoped this being my new solution for charging my phone and iPod, but it seems like I have to find a better way.

Pros

  • Small and portable, so it's easy to bring it with you. Fits nicely in every pocket and it's very lightweight.
  • A powerful battery, with an high capacity of power. You get even more then what the producers actually tell us.
  • Has a good amount of popular charging adapters included, and an AC Power charger as well.
  • Slick design, and a nice attractive, elegant look.
  • It charges with USB connection, so it's compatible with all devices that use USB, and that is pretty many!
  • An Eco-Friendly solution to your charging needs, the only silly thing is that the solar panels are very weak.
  • Can charge you iPhone ca. 2 times, from bottom to top (0% to 100%)

Cons

  • If using the solar panel to charge the battery, there are so many stupid things that can happen, and the charging speed it extremely slow. I don't have any specific time frame for how long it takes, because it took me almost seven days to not even charge it completely.
  • When you finally want to charge it, charging is slow, and very often shows you the message, " this charger is not compatible with your device". Even though the error appears, it actually works with the iDevices, it was just my overcharging, I think, that ruined the whole thing.
  • To pricey for this low quality. And the adapters are, like going to break at any time.
  • AC power charger is only US, they should have included and EU adapter.

AC, US power charger. Why they didn't include an EU adapter, I really don't know, but since they didn't they lost many customers. The material of this feels weak, and cheap. The plastic is like paper. The solar panel is related to this charger, and the adapters as well.

The US connection side, simple, can work, I haven't tried it out, cause I live in Europa. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. I had an alternative method so I didn't have to try testing this out!

Just some info about how much voltage, input, output, and that sort of information. There's not that much to say, just that the info is there.

The USB connection is there for those who wanna charge their Solar Panel with the non environmental friendly power, and for those who don't want to wait so long for a fully charged battery.

A charging cable is of course included. This is literally the only included thing in the package, that I think is of good quality and that works well! Works with no problems, no painting discoloration. Nice!!

The adapters are also one of those, "OK, but could have been better", included parts of this package. I mean, all of them work, but when they started included popular adapters, why didn't they include a Micro adapter, that's like the most used one!!

Total Conclusion

Honestly, I would recommend everyone to try finding some better solar panel charger, with better rating, and being cheaper. This is just a elegant battery with and tragic working solar panel, that doesn't even work like it should. The LED light always flashes and there is with no doubt some low budget parts inside. Try looking for something with a high rating and with good information. I took a risk and bought this, I regret it, I failed and should never have bought this. Buy it if you are looking to waste money! I had good expectations, but it ended with me regretting and wasting money.

I must sadly say, that I Do Not Recommend This!

Reviewing - Mini Microphone for iPhone 3G/iPod Nano 4G/iPod Touch 2G/iPod Classic 120 (3.5mm Jack/Modena)

Review

Mini Microphone for iPhone 3G/iPod Nano 4G/iPod Touch 2G/inPod Classic 120 (3.5mm Jack/Modena)

Unfortunately I ordered the wrong version of this microphone, so I didn't get the the color I actually wanted. Fortunately the mic works brilliantly, and is with no doubt better than the iPod Touch microphone. I haven't been using it very much, mainly because I don't record many videos on a daily basis with my iPod! I would rather use my 7 year old camcorder.
It's very small and since it's a "Plug and Play", device, then it's just to bring it with you, plug it in and use it!

Purple... As you can see, the mini microphone has a mini jack connection, so there will be a enormous amount of devices you can use this with. Very in-handy for those who travel alot with their iPhone, and need a better microphone when recording memories and traveling destinations.

Ridiculously small and compact. You can literally store it almost anywhere. The most important thing with mic is to remember to bring it with you, and to not lose it anywhere. I took a key here, and compared it to the whole microphone capsule. Convinced?

As you remove the top part of the microphone capsule, then it becomes even smaller. When it is just like this, I's around the size of an 25 cent coin. The jack mini jack plug is 3.5mm, this means it can fit into Androids, Nokia's, Camcorders and other devices. Since almost all electronics use jack plugins, the opportunities for use are endless!

Microphone end with small holes to pick up the sound. The sound quality is much better and it picks up three time the amount of sound, contrary to the iPod Touch microphone! It is maybe big, but if that's the price to pay for better sound, the I would rather do that, then loosing sound quality.

Pros

  • Compatible with all iPods, iPhones, iPads and many more devices with mini jack plugin. So the possibilities of how this microphone can be used are enormous!
  • Very small, compact and easy to use. Portable and can be carried around everywhere.
  • Has a included attachment for portability, like carrying it around with a key chain or something.
  • Much better recording quality and sound sensitivity than the iPod Touch microphone!
  • Plug and Play compatible so the setup for this is super easy. Just plug in, and use! Cheap, Quick and Easy!
  • Seems surprisingly well made, doesn't seems fragile at all, and by considering the price of 2.09 USD, then you get a good product for the price.

Cons

  • The microphone is divided into two parts, the top and the bottom (the microphone itself). On the part that covers the mini jack, and where the key chain attachment is, if it's pulled hard enough then it will separate from the mic and you can lose it! However, they couldn't have done nothing about that, cause they can't place it on the other side becasue that's where the microphone is. By placing the key chain attachment on the microphone capsule sides would have been better choice!
  • The top where the microphone is, should maybe have been more rounded on the edges. I now refer to the second picture above "Pros", there you can see how big the top is, they should have made it smaller, if that would have been possible of course.

Comparing the iPod Mic, and the mini micrphone sound.
Equally far away from the microphone!

Mini Microphone Sound Test

iPod Touch Microphone Sound Test

Just listen to them and you'll see a significant difference in sound quality.

This is the microphone capsule part where the attachment for the key chain is. I wouldn't use this, to be honest, cause I don't want to risk loosing it when walking or while doing anything physical activity.

When you connect the mic to the iPod, this is how mine looks like. It is pretty big, but it serves a pretty good sound quality, and that much better then iPod microphone. So maybe it isn't the most well designed, but it does what is says!

Total Conclusion

If you record a lot of videos with your iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone, then this could be a very practical device. Often, specially if your are recording with the front camera a lot, then this will be like the front facing microphone.. It really improves recording quality and I think that 2 bucks for this is deifinitly worth it! That depends as well if you're going to use it!
It does what it says and does it well. Only be careful when carrying it around cause it's really small and can easily be lost.

Recommended for those who use there iDevice for recording videos and voice mails.

SwitchEasy Colors Case Turquoise Review

Review Of
SwitchEasy Colors Case Turquoise
For iPod Touch 4th Generation

Link for this product:

About three days ago, I got this SwitchEasy case. The sent me this case so I could make a review of it. Thanks SwitchEasy for sending me this!

The case I got has a turquoise color with a lighter turquoise glossy button. I have been using this case for three days and I'm afraid I want be able so say much negative about it. The product is at first look very attractive and elegant. Since my iPod is scratchy and with many ugly marks, this case can really make my iPod shine and feel new again. I am so far more tham satisfied, the glossy and soft button really makes this case stand out from the rest hard plastic cases. It really is special.

When the case arrived, it arrived inside this packaging. Once again inside a plastic bag. The packaging is very nice and somehow very pleasant to look at! You can see how the case looks like, the protectors and the other included parts are inside the case.

The backside provides simple but more than enough information about the case. Nice color choice on the backside. As you can see it includes two Anti Static Membranes (Screen Protectors), two Headphone Jack Protectors, two Dock Connection Protectors and a Microfiber Cleaning Cloth.

When you take the case out of the package this is how it looks like. The nice colorish paper, covering the included protectors, info's and the wipe is fresh!
The case is dark turquoise and very attractive!

Pros

  • The packaging is elegant, attractive and nice to look at. Definitely attracts customers at first look!
  • The backside provides just enough information about the product, but not too much so it becomes boring to even look at.
  • There is many things included with this case, like two dust jack protectors and two dust dock connection protectors. If that's not all, you get two screen protectors, a microfiber cleaning cloth and an awesome case!
  • The main attraction and the thing that makes this case really stand out, is first of all the amazing good color choice. Then there is the soft, glossy button. Somehow I love pressing the homebutton.
  • The case itself is perfect! Color choice, the felling inside your hand, attractive and fabulous!
  • The cutouts are accurate and precise. No bad factory mistakes.
  • Since the case is made of silicone it could save your iPod Touch 4 from getting scratches and various damages when dropped

Cons

  • There is actually only one thing I slightly dislike about this case. I am doubting myself if I even should consider it as a dislike, since I actually don't mind the color at all. The contrast is maybe unwise, but it doesn't matter, cause it looks really nice. The glossy button and the case color are too similar to each other. They should maybe have chosen a darker turquoise color, or any other color, but honestly I don't think they should change it at all.

When all the included accessories are taken out of the case, this is how the "boss", itself looks like. It's really nice, the turquoise color is perfect, no dimmed colors or factory painting mistakes! I also really like how they placed the company logo inside the case, since many other case producers place there logo outside, and that's just ruins the case!

The glossy button. This is absolutely the main attraction. I was yesterday just sitting with my iPod in my lap, and pressing the home button, for like 30 times. I know this sounds weird, pressing the homebutton for no practical reason, but I was watching television and it was jolly good!

The cutouts for the camera is precise and well made. The same with the power button . I guess it would have been cool to have all the cutouts and volume rockers in various and different colors. Unfortunately, this would increase production costs very much, I guess.

The volume rockers. Detailed, nice, perfect...

One of the extra included things you get with the case, are these dock connection protectors, and the jack connection protectors. The point with these are of course to protect the parts on your iPod Touch from dust, that you can get problems with once in a while.

The protectors above should be pushed inside these slots, when the case is on the iPod, together with the screen protector, then the case is complete!

I want to once again, say "thank you", to SwitchEasy for sending me these products with Express shipment for reviewing. SwitchEasy has amazing cases are one of the best I've seen. This logo is inside the case, so you can't see it from the outside. Great!!

Total Conclusion

This is the best case I owned so far in my entire life, even though this is my forth iPod Touch 4g case I have.  "Perfect, with a slightly little doubt of possible improvement with the color contrasts", describes this case just right! This is 100% recommended for all iPod Touch 4 users, that like turquoise colors, and that enjoys having iPod Touch 4 Generation cases on. If you search for a perfect, outstanding and beyond the usual mainstream cases, then choose this one!

Extra Recommended!!

Review Of The Full Range 0.7" LCD FM Transmitter with IR Remote + Car Charger for iPhone 3G/4

Review Of

Full Range 0.7" LCD FM Transmitter with IR Remote + Car Charger for iPhone 3G/4

Can be bought here:
At first look, this product doesn't look that much to brag about, but it's actually a very powerful device. I've been using this radio transmitter for three days so far, and my thoughts of it are mostly good. I yesterday used it while having a CD player around with a radio function, I connected the Transmitter to the iPod, found a song, chose a frequency and found the frequency on the Cd player, and listened to my favorite music. I've also had great experience using it inside a car. We where driving to a skiing center when I suddenly wanted to try it out, and because the music the play on the radio stations sometimes aren't my style. I chose a song and enjoyed the  music. I must admit that it's awesome!

The packaging was slightly damaged, and the box was a bit smashed. The things inside were however intact and in good condition. The FM Transmitter comes in this "nice", package. Without taking in consideration this package with a transportation damage. Generally, this is a nice package, a nice transparent frontside and elegant black color.

The backside of the packaging also has this nice elegant black color with white text. There is different information about the product, some info about the frequencies, the voltage for charging the iPod through the Transmitter, and some compatibility info, even though it works with all iPods, iPhones and iPads!

When you open the package and slide this out of the box. This is how everything inside looks like and how it's packaged inside. The remote control is in a plastic bag with a protective plastic protection. The radio transmitter itself is packaged exactly as on the picture and the car charger is inside a plastic bag.

Pros:

  • The FM transmitter is very compact and small!
  • It's light and super simple to use. Just connect and use!
  • The buttons on the transmitter is very easy to use. Choosing a frequency is just pressing the buttons and deciding which one to use.
  • When you connect it to the iPod, it will light up blue. The blue LED light is nice for indicating when it's connected and not. In handy for nighttime use.
  • Can overpower all radio stations, the known ones as well.
  • Well made and solid.
  • Has an including car charger. Great to have during long car trips.
  • The packaging is nice and cool! Nice black elegant color.
  • It transmits perfect sound quality. Depends however on where and how you place the transmitter together with the iDevice.
  • This is no bad quality Chinese product.
  • Super simple to use, every tech newbie could do this and perfect for those that don't like spending long time understanding tech instructions.
  • A remote control is included so it's great to use when you lie in the sofa and want to change a song.
  • Works with all Apple Music Playing Devices!

Cons

  • The design of the FM transmitter itself has a lack of attraction. If I wouldn't have needed this and if the functions of this device wouldn't satisfy me, the I wouldn't have bought it. This still doesn't mean that I buy things because of the design. I'm just telling you that, design is important! One of the main reasons and the first impression of an product is the design.
  • The signal can sometimes be weak and disappear randomly. I tested out the device, by moving the device from left to right some meters away from a room, where a FM receiver was placed. The signal can really vary. Just moving it slightly 2 cm, can affect the signal, but that's only happened to me once, and it can also depend on the megahertz frequanzy you have chosen.
  • Even though the FM transmitter is solid, compact and well made. Somehow the material that it is made of seems weak, and the plastic feels that it can't stand much force.

The radio transmitter is shiny and elegant, but unfortunately the material feels weak and easy to brake. However, this products isn't meant for climbing, skiing and using it while doing sports.

The same device, from another angle. The buttons, could maybe have been colored in a lighter black color, maybe a grey or a white color, but I assume they wouldn't do this on purpose. Because the production costs would increase.

The car charging cable. The material of this also seems weak and of bad quality. The end is connected to the hole on the picture below. It around 40 cm and is just the right lenght for using it inside the car.

In this little hole below, is where you'r supposed to connect the output connection side of the car charging cable. It ridiculously small, and I didn't notice it until a day ago, and cause everything is black colored, then it wasn't a surprise.

The remote control is actually very simple. There is a power button that I don't understand why there is, because you can't turn the FM transmitter off. Neither the MENU and some other buttons. Mute, repeat, shuffle, channel down, channel up, volume plus, volume minus, forward, backwards, pause/play have I tried out. I also think that those are the only necessary functions!

Totalt Conclusion

My total conclusion would be "buy, buy, buy", this a an cheap, very in handy accessory. Maybe you want need it now or in the upcoming days, weeks or even months. This can be used for many things, not just creating a radio station. You can prank bus radios and play your own music, playing music through the car speakers in the car, pranking at the shopping center and many other cool things like interrupting school radios. I didn't hear about this accessory before, but I'm glad I did! This is actually one of the most smartest things I've ever bought. There is so many things you can do with this little, cheap, compact and smart gadget. This is honestly something that everyone should have, it seems like it isn't neccessary, but it can really be practical sometimes. This is recommended for iPads, iPhones, iPods and iPod Touches!

Recommended!
